2X The Potter

Warner Brothers made it officially official today and announced that the final Harry Potter book will indeed be broken into two films. David Yates is also going to direct the final installments of the franchise. The two movies will be released seven months apart, with the first in theaters in November 2010 and the second in May 2011.

Honestly, I don’t know I feel about this. Sure, the book is lengthy and probably needs some additional time but splitting it up into two halves doesn’t seem like the way to go for me. The first half of the book really isn’t that action packed and will mostly involve lots of talking. Now, once it gets going in the second half, it really gets going. If the second film was just the huge battle at the school, I would be cool with that.

  • I am SOOOO glad! I really think it would have been an injustice to the book to try to cram it all into one film. I trust that they will break it up and distribute action and story in a good way. :)
