Will Eddie Murphy Please Go Away Now?

Austin City Limits ‘08 Lineup!

The best music festival year in and year out is the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, TX. I have this opinion because, well, I haven’t been to any of the other annual festivals other than ACL. It’s a rockin’ time…if you can handle being outside in the Texas heat for 10 hours over three days. The first time I went, I was okay with it because a) it wasn’t that hot and b) it was the first time I saw Ryan Adams. The second time I went? It was so freaking hot outside and it was just a beating. I need showers and air conditioning in order to function so I could be right out of the music festival business.

However, I still dig checking out the lineup and this year is worth me pulling a Michael Jordan and coming out of festival retirement. The Foo Fighters (blah) are headlining but some of the other main acts are quite intriguing. They are Beck, Allison Krauss & Robert Plant, The Raconteurs, David Byrne, Iron & Wine, G. Love & Special Sauce, Band Of Horses, The Swell Season, Gillian Welch, Drive-By Truckers, M. Ward…oh, forget it…click here and you can decide if you like the lineup or not.

Coachella has Prince which is nice but I can’t make it a 3-peat this year. I enjoyed ACL last year…Muse was incredible.

The Prince factor alone makes this year’s Coachella greatness.

I had to sit through Muse once. And then I put a bullet through my head to stop the noise.
