Conor Oberst Is Overrated & Annoying…There, I Said It

A Yahoo blogger named Rob O’Connor has posted his Ten Most Annoying Singers. His list is pretty good but he has too many irrelevant artists on there. I agree with a few of them, especially Conor Oberst and James Blunt. Oberst is so freaking overrated. His act will get really tired soon. But Michael Bolton? Celine Dion? Scott Stapp? They have zero influence on the music scene today. Here are some of the singers that I find to be a complete and total beating.
- Chris Carraba, Dashboard Confessional. Carraba is the undisputed King Of Closed Eyes Singing. He is brutality.
- Chris Martin, Coldplay. Yes, it’s hipster fashionable to bag on Chris Martin. I wouldn’t even say that his voice is that annoying. It’s the fact that every single Coldplay song is the same.
- Macy Gray. How anybody can find her voice enjoyable is beyond me.
- Amy Winehouse. People keep telling me that her voice is amazing. Sure, it’s amazing if you like to listen to somebody actually use their nose instead of their mouth to sing.
- Dave Matthews. The. Worst. Ever. It bothers me deeply that I once considered him to be great.
- Every emo band.
There are so many singers that annoy me, it’s difficult for me to list them here. Let’s hear from you America. What singers annoy you?

Axl Rose, that’s a given. I’m not a big fan of Devendra Banhart either. And I really don’t care for Tegan and Sara, what pretentious crap.

On a side note, I don’t care for James Blunt’s music but he is hysterically funny.

James Blunt played piano for Jimmy Kimmel’s “I’m F’ing Matt Damon” retort ensemble rockout. James Blunt is a funny man.
You could likely look through my iTunes to find a list of artists that I have been bequeathed by friends for other totally over-rated singers. Let’s start with The Arcade Fire.

Definitely Conor Oberst and all the Oberst-wannabes. Coldplay was always annoying. Bono is really starting to get to me. Dashboard Confessional, why doesn’t somebody kill them so I’ll die happy.
All those glam-metals bands today that pose as punk bands.
Every idol contestant, Christina “If I don’t melisma, I’ll die” Aguilera and anybody who hides their voice behind an auto-tuner.

The Arcade Fire…yeah…I don’t get it. They are weak.
Bono is starting to bug me as well. U2 has kind of made the same album two times in a row now. We need more “Achtung Baby”.
