In an idea that I can only describe as scrumptawesome, Scott McCaughey of R.E.M. (and the Minus 5!) has joined forces with Steve Wynn of Dream Syndicate to form The Baseball Project. Their first album hits stores on July 8th and is called “Volume 1: Frozen Ropes And Dying Quails”. Guess what this album is about? Every song is about baseball. These guys are huge baseball fans. By huge, I mean they have a blog dedicated to baseball and their indie rock fantasy baseball league. I love them.
The album is being released by Yep Roc Records and the entire album is streaming on their site right now. For those familiar with the Minus 5, you will like what you hear. Once you see the song titles, you will see that this album is definitely not safe for work.
