Five Albums From 2008 That Are So Good That They Are Five Of The Best Albums Of 2008 So Far

You’ll have to excuse the names of some of my posts. I sometimes like to be a bit wordy because I have lots of words to say when I think about words.

There have been a handful of albums released in 2008 that I pretty much rotate on a daily basis. As some of you may have seen, I have my iPod & speakers set-up at work & I just listen to music all day while shirking responsibilities & dodging additional work. Ha ha…just kidding boss…or not…yes, I’m kidding. Here are the five albums I have enjoyed the most so far this year:

  1. Elvis Costello & The Impostors, “Momofuku”
  2. Old 97s, “Blame It On Gravity”. There isn’t a review for this album. I am trying not to review every album I get because…well…there are many people who haven’t heard of some of the bands I listen to & I would actually like people to read the stuff here, not be bored.
  3. She & Him, “Volume One”
  4. Flight of the Conchords, self titled
  5. Wolf Parade, “At Mount Zoomer”. Yet another album with no review. Is that large of an audience really that interested in hearing me go on & on about this odd indie pop band? If so, let me know & I’ll bang out a review. If not…status quo.

Lastly…most disappointing album of recent memory, in addition to 2008, belongs to My Morning Jacket’s “Evil Urges”. It should be sold with a warning sticker: Long Time MMJ Fans Beware, This Is Not Your Band.
