Eddie Murphy can’t possibly fall any further. According to Box Office Mojo, his latest piece of trash, “Meet Dave”, opened with a weak $5.3 million over the weekend. This is particularly insane because the Mike Meyers “comedy”, “The Love Guru”, actually made more than “Meet Dave” in its opening weekend. Let’s think about this for a moment: There are 18 million dollars worth of people who thought that seeing “Meet Dave” or “The Love Guru” was a great idea that weekend. “Wall-E” is right…we are doomed as a society.
The number one movie was “Hellboy 2: The Golden Army”, which I did not see but would very much like to see. It’s good to see that movie do well because Guillermo del Toro is a great director & he deserves success, especially after the greatness of “Pan’s Labyrinth”. I’m sure that “Hellboy” is much better than “Hancock”, which shouldn’t be difficult. Of course, every single one of these movies will be gutted like a fish this weekend when “The Dark Knight” hits theaters.
I have a habit now of not going to see movies on the weekend that they open, unless it is something that I am just dying to see (i.e., “The Dark Knight”). I can’t handle the crowds anymore. Actually, it’s not the crowds so much as the loud people. You know, the people who bring their crying infants or the obnoxious teens that chat it up the entire movie. I know that I am a movie snob & these are people just like me, but do you need to crackle open that Hefty Bag of Sour Patch Kids as soon as you plop down? Also, can we lay off the hot dogs & nachos in the theater? That stuff smells like pure gasoline.
Cinematically Correct note: Hello, have you met me? I’m the Most Bitter Man In The World.

Haha totally agree. I think they should only sell gummy bears, because there is nothing worse then hearing the crunching of popcorn everytime the movie is silent.
And I am a 16 year old teenager (I do have movie manners, don’t worry), but I agree, and I think we all hate that feeling when someone sits right in front of you when the entire theater is open. Now I just see movie screenings all the time, and if it’s not a press only then they are full of people who won the tickets from radio stations, and I swear people think if they see the movie for free, they can talk about every scene out loud.
Alright sorry for going off in this comment, I do feel better now. Enjoy ‘The Dark Knight’, check out my site tonight around midnight and I will post a review. You will love it, it’s absolutely amazing.
