While growing up with HBO in its infancy, I was able to watch plenty of movies. This is probably what led to my movie obsession today. One of the movies that I watched quite a bit was “Flash Gordon”. It freaked me out a bit when Flash had to stick his hand in the big tree stump thing, but other than that, I completely loved that movie.
Today, the Hollywood Reporter has told us that Sony has hired some writers for the “Flash Gordon” remake! Seriously, this is such great news. Normally, I despise remakes but I am all for this one!
Does anybody else love this old movie? Does anybody have any casting suggestions for the remake? If you need to be inspired for your casting choices, watch this awesome trailer for the original!

What Sam J. Jones isn’t available? Since Flash is seen frequently shirtless…two words…Matthew McConaughey. I think Tim Daulton can reprise his role and Bruce Willis(he’s already bald)as Ming.
I am pleased to hear that the purchase of HBO in it’s infancy is paying off.
We did it as an investment in the future. (It’s hard to type tongue-in-cheek)

No McConaughey. “Flash Gordon” needs to be a No-McConaughey Zone.
Thanks! I never knew that HBO was around with an eye for 2007 or 2008. That is awesome.
Also…that made me laugh out loud immediately.

If I have to sit through watching “Flash Gordon” one more time……
