Celebrate Democracy Today…By Checking Out Some Great Movies Based In Philadelphia

Since the Phillies won the World Series last week (did you all know that?), Kevin Kelly on SpoutBlog came up with a list of movies based in Philadelphia. Thankfully, I have never seen “National Treasure”…and now I am sickened to learn that part of it happens at Independence Hall. When is Nicolas Cage going to stop making movies?!?! Can’t we get that on a National Ballot of some kind? It could read like this: Proposition 38, Do you want to force Nic Cage to stop making movies? It would be a Reagan-like landslide, I know it.

My personal favorite Philadelphia flick is “Trading Places”. Does everybody remember when Eddie Murphy was funny? That was awesome.

Come on, it’s “Rocky” and you know it. “Trading Places” is really good but it’s no Rocky. “Unbreakable”, “Invinceable”? Good but not in the top 5.
