Bored At Work=Random “Lost” Thoughts
Damon Lindelof, writer/executive producer of “Lost”, recently revealed these three things:
1. The rest of this season will tell us who gets off the Island (the Oceanic 6).
2. Next season will tell us why the Oceanic 6 needs to go back.
3. The sixth and final season will take those six people back to the Island.
This has me thinking about the flash-forwards and when they are going to catch up with the present…in “Lost” world…so to speak. Confusing right?
The reason I am thinking this is we have yet to see how these six people get off the Island. Is that going to happen this season? I don’t think so. I think the writers have to set it up so that when season five ends, we have found out how the Oceanic 6 left the Island and how they are getting back. I have actually pictured exactly how it could look. We could basically see the Oceanic 6 leaving the Island, then flash forward to the moment when those same six individuals are arriving. If that is they type of moment we are expecting, then “Lost” would yet again have made television history. How iconic, dramatic, thought-provoking, insert good adjective would that moment be? It would be a TV moment in the “Who Shot JR?” realm.
I have also started to really try and wrap my head around the fact that Michael will be back soon. How is Michael getting back? People are pretty set on thinking that he is on the freighter and is probably the person helping Sayid and Desmond out there.
Since some pretty lame things have happened to the Oceanic 6 so far in their flash-forwards, we could assume that something has happened to Michael and Walt when they got back to the real world. It would make sense that Michael realized, like Hurley and Jack did, that he and Walt need to go back. I’m sure that, like Jack, he probably didn’t have much luck in getting back. Who would you turn to in order to make that happen?
Ben, that’s who. Michael, somehow or someway, contacted or was contacted by Ben in the real world. We are seeing that Ben is quite the powerful guy so he pulls some strings and gets Michael on the freighter. Therefore, Michael is in fact Ben’s inside man. I am sure that the rest of the 815ers won’t be too happy to see him since he, you know, shot and killed Ana Lucia and Libby, then led Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley right to Ben and The Others.
Ben is the key to this entire thing. Is he really the bad guy here? I think eventually, Ben is going to be the key for getting the Oceanic 6 back to the Island. It will be strange to see, but just like Sayid, those six people will be forced to work with Ben in order to right whatever wrongs were committed in order to get off the Island.
Babbling? Whatever. There is just so much to process. When this show is finally over, somebody better put together a “Lost” bible of some sort.
