Here Comes Will Smith’s Next Oscar Grab
The trailer for the next movie to make Will Smith another $30 million is available today. It’s for “Seven Pounds”, which I believe is referring the the famous “one pound of flesh” bit in the Shakespearean play “Merchant Of Venice”. Wow…two Shakespeare references on Cinematically Correct in one day, who would have thunk it? Of course, the only reason I know that reference is due to 2004’s “The Merchant Of Venice” starring Al Pacino as the Shylock. Pacino sure “hoo-haa’ed” his ass through that performance. What does that have to do with this Will Smith flick? Absolutely nothing.
Cinematically Correct note: I hope Barry Pepper isn’t just a bland secondary character in this flick. I like that dude and he was completely overlooked for his work in “The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada”.
