Patrick McGoohan Is Dead From Death At Age 80
The man who became famous for playing a number, Patrick McGoohan, has died at the age of 80. McGoohan famously played Number Six on the British TV show “The Prisoner”, which he also created. McGoohan was probably seen by more people as King Longshanks in “Braveheart”.
My first exposure to this smooth-talking Irish son of a bitch was in “Silver Streak”. He played the bad guy in the underrated Gene Wilder/Richard Pryor team-up. The scene involving he, Wilder, Pryor, and the n-word is a hilariously funny bit. I will never forget the look on his face when Pryor pulls that gun on him. It takes a brave actor (especially a, you know, white one) to drop that racial atom bomb on screen.
