Decent Weekend Developments

Circuit CityAs many people are aware, Circuit City announced they are shutting down all of their stores last Friday. This is just a sign of the times but I think Circuit City is partly to blame for this. I have shopped at their stores a lot over the years and they seem to consistently have higher prices than your Best Buy’s and Frye’s Electronics of the world. Also, their selection of DVDs and BluRay discs kind of sucked. The only thing that they really had going for them was their customer service and their warranty plan. Other than that, they were overpriced and understocked the majority of the time.

I hope the estimated 34,000 people who will lose their jobs because of this land on their feet. If only Circuit City could have lasted one more day…there is no way they would have gone out of business once Obama is sworn in.

PhotobucketHowever…Mr. and Ms. Cinematically Correct have decided to prey on the downfall of others. Yesterday, prior to entering my own personal Great Depression, we picked up this bad boy. It’s a 47″ inch Vizio LCD TV. Dude…it’s freaking awesome. Football looked fantastic on it. I played one game of X-Box NHL 2009 on it and it is almost too big for the game.

I can’t wait to watch Jack Bauer kill a guy tonight on it
