Goodbye Harry

Philadelphia Phillies broadcasting legend, Harry Kalas, died today at the age of 73. Harry has been calling Phillies games since 1971 and he also was the voice of NFL Films.

As a lifetime Phillie fan, this one really, really hurts. Here is how I will always remember Harry.

Update: Not surprisingly, MLB had the video of the Phillies final out pulled from YouTube. Nothing, not even 45 seconds, is free folks.

They talked to Jayson Stark today on Mike & Mike & he got pretty choked up a couple times….as did I. They kept playing his call of Schmidts 500th homer….I was having trouble getting ready for work b/c I was so teary.
    Truly truly sad.

I love Harry and will miss him. Kruk was choking up last night when he spoke about Harry. Schmidt was on Mike & Mike also and of course Harry’s the one that started calling him Michael Jack. Schmidt said that Harry had a special relationship with his entire family, mother, father, everyone. Whenever they were in Cinci they all went out for dinner.

    Harry…you are outta’ here!
