When Marty & Leo Get Together, It’s A Sure-Fire Gigglefest

Empire sure gets all the best early stuff. Here is a shot of Leonardo DiCaprio, Michelle Williams, and Martin Scorses from “Shutter Island”. Accordingly to Mark Ruffalo, who is also in the flick, the movie is “absolute madness“. This is great news because I had heard it wasn’t absolute madness, just plain old madness.

Why does this stink of “Cape Fear” to me? There isn’t anything wrong with that movie…but it sure seems like Scorsese and all involved were going through the motions on that one. The good news for “Shutter Island” is that early word and conjecture is that the movie, which is based on a Dennis Lehane novel, is totally badass. Look, anything that has Jackie Earle Haley in it as a pyscho-ward patient is guaranteed to be tremendous.
