Could “Tetro” Be A Winner From Coppola?
Francis Ford Coppola hasn’t made a movie up to his standards of excellence in almost twenty years. I like “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” well enough, but those Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder performances are pretty brutal in it. Come to think of it…Anthony Hopkins is way over the top as Van Helsing too. The best thing about that movie is Tom Waits as the crazy Renfield, the camera work, and the great sets and costumes.
I just watched this trailer on In Contention for Coppola’s next movie, “Tetro”, which he also wrote. This one stinks of biography since Coppola’s poppa was a composer and a musician and the main character in this movie, named Tetro and played by whacko Vincent Gallo, appears to be a writer.
