Scorsese & Leo Are At It Again
Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are totally BFF. The recently announced Scorsese-directed Frank Sinatra biopic needs to get a great Ole Blue Eyes and, not surprisingly, Marty is dipping back into the Leo well. It’s all conjecture at this point but the word is that Leo is taking singing lessons so he can pull a Joaquin Phoenix in the role. Let’s hope Leo does go completely crazy afterwards though. Mary and Leo just finished “Shutter Island” and the early word is that it’s fairly awesome. At this point, those two can do no wrong.
While Leo and Marty together again is not a surprise, this casting news is a bit strange. Not only has Sofia Coppola cast the wheels off Stephen Dorff to star in her next flick “Somewhere”, she has cast former “Jackass” star Chris Pontius. This movie is about a sleazy actor (played by Dorff, which actually makes sense) who comes to grips with life after a visit from his daughter, played by Elle Fanning. Pontius is playing the best friend of Dorff’s character, so it’s safe to assume he’ll be playing some sort of wild film version of himself.
