#1 For Two Weeks & $105 Million Prove “The Hangover” Is 100% Winner

It’s officially official. “The Hangover” is the first break out hit of 2009. I’m pretty sure that the folks at Warner Brothers knew they had a winner on their hands, but did they expect two weeks in the number one spot? Did they think it would make more than their other big release “Terminator Salvation”? I would bet not. However, the WB has a huge money maker on their hands and there is a definite chance at $150 million total after getting to $105 million after two weeks.

The best news of the box office weekend? The Eddie Murphy movie “Imagine That”, with a budget of “only” $55 million, pulled in $5.7 million in over 3,000 theaters. That, my friends, is truly pathetic. There is a chance that movie won’t even get to $15 million. It’s not that I wish bad things for Eddie Murphy…but I wish bad things for Eddie Murphy.
