A pretty impressive list, I wish I could find the time to do it. Good Job and have a great New Year. “You keep writing them, I’ll keep reading them.”

bold first choice. i think Almost Famous is a fun, sanitised look at the 70s – nothing more. people seem to think its some sort of masterpiece.
your top ten is interesting, nice to see Black Hawk Down in there, one of those forgotten films. Zodiac is just brilliant

Yeah, “Almost Famous” is kind-of vanilla & awfully white of me. But my love of music & movies seem to reach critical mass in it. I love the last two lines of the movie so much that I memorized them:

“Russell, what do you love about music?”
      “Well…for starters…everything.”

Great list, but the one that jumped out at me was No. 21, “United 93.” No one ever names that movie as one of the best, so I’m glad you gave it proper billing. Maybe because it had no Big-Name Stars people forget about it, but they shouldn’t. It remains the best film made about 9/11, and perhaps the best of 2006.

“United 93” would even be higher on my list if it didn’t crush my nerves every time I watch it. It’s just so damn powerful!

I like your list but I couldn’t believe you didn’t include these: “Blazing Saddles”, “Gran Torino”, “The Natural”.
