Get Ready For The “Glee” Love In At The Emmys

The almighty and powerful Emmy voters have spoken and they are telling you that yes, you must love “Glee” and that they still overrate “30 Rock”. However, they are also telling you that “Curb Your Enthusiasm” was great again, “Breaking Bad” is the most badass drama on TV, and that saying goodbye to “Lost” meant a few nominations…but leaving the best of them all out of the mix. I’m gonna touch on that immediately.

  • Biggest Ripoff: Josh Halloway.

I’m really not going to go into the reasons why he was screwed. If you are a “Lost” fan, you know it’s true and you don’t need to be sold. Two words: candy machine. End of story.

On to my picks…

  • Supporting Actor In A Comedy – Hm, more shows I don’t watch. Am I missing something?

Will win: Neil Patrick Harris, “How I Met Your Mother”. I think the “Modern Family” actors will cancel each other out and this is NPH’s year.

Should win: NPH. For real.

Wish win: NPH. Look, the guy is greatness.

  • Supporting Actress In A Comedy – Duh.

Will win: Jane Lynch, “Glee”. Let’s move on.

Should win: Lynch. Again, keep moving.

Wish win: Lynch. Look, I don’t watch the show but her parts in “Role Models”, “The 40-Year Old Virgin”, and all the Christopher Guest movies make her 100% full of kickass in my book.

  • Supporting Actor In A Drama – Actually, this may be the toughest category of the year.

Will win: Aaron Paul, “Breaking Bad”. I get the feeling it’s going to be a big year for this show.

Should win: Andre Braugher, “Men Of A Certain Age”. He’s dramatic here? He is tragically hilarious on this show.

Wish win: Either Terry O’Quinn or Michael Emerson from “Lost”. They then should give the award to Josh Holloway.

  • Supporting Actress In A Drama – Isn’t Rose Byrne the star of “Damages”? Guess not.

Will win: Archie Panjabi, “The Good Wife”. This is such a strong show for actresses.

Shoud win: Rose Byrne, “Damages”. Again, why not lead actress? I don’t get it.

Wish win: Christina Hendricks, “Mad Men”. Look, I’m male and alive. Of course I want her to win.

  • Actor In A Comedy – As usual, Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, and Tony Shalhoub have to get nominated for this award. It’s so boring.

Will win: Matthew Morrison, “Glee”. You have to like “Glee”.

Should win: Larry David, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. The Seinfeld reunion was inspired and so was Larry. He’s the best.

Wish win: Larry…because he’s my Life Coach.

  • Actress In A Comedy – Honestly, if Tina Fey wins this…I’ll probably do nothing. It’s a hollow threat.

Will win: Edie Falco, “Nurse Jackie”. Falco’s name is like a magnet for Emmy voter’s pens.

Should win: Falco. Because she’s awesome.

Wish win: Toni Collette, “The United States of Tara”. Isn’t it about time she won something?

  • Actor In A Drama – Kyle Chandler got nominated, so can all you “Friday Night Lights” crazies cool it now?

Will win: Bryan Cranston, “Breaking Bad”. The guy is just killer good. It’s the role of a lifetime for him.

Should win: Cranston. Same reasons.

Wish win: Matthew Fox, “Lost”. He really brought it at the front and end of last season. His performance in the series finale was heartbreakingly great.

  • Actress In A Drama – Again, cool your jets “Friday Night Lights” people. Connie Britton is in there.

Will win: Julianne Margulies, “The Good Wife”. Isn’t this pretty much a given?

Should win: Connie Britton, “Friday Night Lights”. I’ve never watched the show once, but from what I’ve read, she’s off the charts fantastic.

Wish win: Mariska Hargitay, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”. Again, never watched the show…but I find her to be gorgeous so there you go.

  • Outstanding Comedy Series – Sigh. It’s hopeless for my favorite shows.

Will win: “Glee”. It’s hypnotic. You will love “Glee” America. Just face it. Side note: I’ve not watched one episode.

Should win: “Modern Family”. It’s not the most original show out there, but it’s easily one of the funniest. The cast really seals the deal for me.

Wish win: “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. Some people felt the Seinfeld reunion was a letdown. Not me. I ate it up with a spoon. The last season also proves that Larry and Leon need their own sitcom.

  • Outstanding Drama Series – “True Blood”? Are you freaking kidding me? I know it’s popular and all…but come on. It’s softcore porn.

Will win: “Breaking Bad”. This is really hard for me to type.

Should win: “Breaking Bad”. Again…it’s difficult.

Wish win: “Lost”. Please? Just once more for old time’s sake?

Personally I’m rooting for Hugh Laurie, not that i don’t love Matthew Fox, but Laurie always gives the best acceptance speeches. Plus, he was awesome this season.
